Self-control Proverbs 25:28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.
Self-control is a big part of Taekwondo and without it we can loose control and do serious damage to someone. It is the same with our spirit if we loose control of our action then we are only hurting our spirit and we look to the Jesus Christ to help us and give us strength with controlling ourselves around the evil temptation

Kindness and Sportsmanship Romans 12:20-21 Therefore If your enemy is hungry, feed him, If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head; 21; Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
To me Kindness and Sportsmanship goes a long way in life and in sports. I had a student that showed good Sportsmanship after he won the wrestling match then helped the other opponent up. In front of everyone the Coach jumped on him yelling saying that he is your enemy you don’t ever help him up, you win then walk away. Well to me he is not a Coach this is a sport, and to me sports show how we should be on the outside world. When we get into a ring to fight, yes he is my enemy but then with the Lord help win or loose the fight and now the Lord want me to show Kindness to my enemy and we help them up and talk to them after the match. Taekwondo is very big on this and why I love the Martial Arts so much when it is taught correctly. This goes right alone with my last message.

Love protect us and the word of God Psalm 40:11 Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O Lord; Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.
We are to show love for our family and our enemies, but the Lord understand we are to protect our family from harm. If a stranger attack your family first thing is to protect your family but then afterward do not show hate for the stranger that attack you instead try to understand why he did and show him the Lord word so he may find salvation in Jesus and the love will make him a better person.

Rituals We all have rituals that we do every day like taken the kids to school putting on clothing, eating food, and so on. Same thing with Church we have rituals there as well like singing, praying and more. Sometime we get into these rituals and we forget why we do them and basically become a standard routine but like today we had Communion (1 Corinthians 11:23-26) and reading a book (Christian Martial Arts 101) it reminded me that even though we have these rituals like Communion which shows we accept Christ as our personal savior because of what he did for us we should never forget why we do these rituals.

Turn the Other Cheek Matthew 5:39: But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.
This is about turning the other cheek when your insulted. The whole idea of words does not hurt me applies to this. People can say all kind of thing to get a rise out of you and show you can be angry with them but in Lord words we should show them Love and not react in anger.
